NIKA
From 01 December 2011 Mark Murphy says of her;"Nika is like a breath of fresh unbelievable
air from the Cosmos! In a time when nothing
seems new and exciting, SHE IS!"
Nika comes to us from New York City.
She is bringing with her her latest cd,
"Sem Fronteiras", sold exclusively in Tokyo at
Tableaux. This cd features a quintet New York's
finest Brasilian musicians: Cidinho Teixeira on piano,
Sergio Brandao on bass, Portinho on drums,
Paulo Levi on sax and Cafe on percussion.
Dividing her time between Brasil and New York,
she is at home with both jazz and Brasilian music.
Nika plays solo Monday - Thursday. For Friday and Saturday,
she is joined by Koji Tetsui on bass.
